We are only mere weeks away from Groovin the Moo 2023 and we can’t wait to see both local and international acts take the stage across Australia. This travelling festival has 6 dates this year, allowing Australian music fans to see many of their favourite artists, with genres stretching from rock to rap. With an impressive history spanning back to 2005, this growing festival has continued to adapt to create the best festival-goer experience possible while keeping the local communities involved. This year, GTM will kick off in Wayville on April 21st before leaving its mark in Maitland, Canberra, Bendigo and the Sunshine Coast before finishing its run in Bunbury on May 6th. Whether you’re a fan of rock bands, rap or singer-songwriting, Groovin the Moo has something for every music listener. This year’s lineup has yet again an impressive international roster, including, Alt-J, BBNO$, Fatboy Slim, Denzel Curry and Eliza Rose among many others. That being said, GTM has stayed true to its roots, keeping much of the lineup filled with Australian artists such as Amy Shark, Teenage Joans, The Chats and Luude to name a few. If you would like to see this star-studded lineup for yourself you can check it out here: https://www.gtm.net.au/line-up/ Presented nationally by Triple J, this all-ages festival is a must-go if you’re able to attend. While this technically doesn’t have anything to do with the lineup, we love to see the GTM website crediting its art director and graphic designer, in addition to acknowledging its respect for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. When a festival has an evident eye for detail in terms of website design, lineup and graphics before the event, its organization tells you that it will be a great festival experience for live music lovers across the country and we can’t wait for Groovin the Moo to take place this year. If you still haven’t bought tickets, you better get on it! Each city is selling out fast (Maitland, NSW is 90% sold out at the time this article was written). We love accessibility and so does Groovin the Moo, with General Admission tickets ranging from $137 to $176. This festival’s range in lineup and affordability makes this the ideal event for all festivalgoers alike. All of Groovin the Moo’s information can be found below. This fall, the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, will host the inaugural Power Trip festival, featuring some of metal and hard rock’s most celebrated artists. Guns N’ Roses, Iron Maiden, AC/DC, Ozzy Osbourne, Metallica, and Tool will all perform on October 6, 7, and 8, marking a rare opportunity for fans to see these legendary acts all in one place. For AC/DC, the Power Trip festival will be their first concert since December 2016. Although it is unclear who, other than guitarist Angus Young, will be in the band’s lineup for the gig, frontman Brian Johnson sang on their 2020 album, Power Up. Johnson had previously expressed uncertainty about AC/DC performing again, but the groundswell of support from fans has apparently convinced the band to take the stage once more. Ozzy Osbourne will also return to the stage for his first full gig since New Year’s Eve 2018. The legendary singer has been training to get back into performance shape after aggravating an old injury, and has been performing one-offs here and there in recent years. Although he announced his retirement from touring in February, he was feeling re-energized after his surprise appearance at England’s Commonwealth Games and is eager to take the stage at Power Trip. Meanwhile, Metallica is gearing up for the release of their newest album, 72 Seasons, next month, and has a number of gigs planned for this year, as do Guns N’ Roses, who have a world tour. Iron Maiden’s only dates this year are in Europe for their Future Past tour, and Tool had just four other festival dates on the books. For fans of metal and hard rock, the Power Trip festival promises to be an epic weekend of music from some of the most influential and respected acts in the genre. It will be a chance to see these legends perform live, and to celebrate the enduring power of their music. The Power Trip festival is not the first time that the Empire Polo Club has played host to such a lineup of musical icons. In 2011, Goldenvoice, which produces Coachella, put together The Big Four festival, featuring Metallica alongside Slayer, Megadeth, and Anthrax. The company also previously put together the Desert Trip festival in 2016, which featured legacy acts like the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, and Paul McCartney. Goldenvoice’s annual country festival, Stagecoach, also takes place on the same grounds. The Power Trip Festival offers a range of ticket options to suit every budget and preference. The 3-Day GA pass, priced at $599 + fees, allows entrance to the Venue and Day Parking lots for all three days and grants access to the camping areas. For an additional $100, fans can purchase the 3-Day GA + Shuttle combo, which includes one General Admission ticket and one Any Line Shuttle ticket, offering easy transportation to and from local hotels and park & ride locations. For those seeking a more elevated experience, reserved seats in various sections are available, ranging from P5 at $799 + fees to P1 at $1,599 + fees. These seats come with access to North & South Lounges featuring exclusive food & drink vendors, restrooms, shaded seating areas, and full cash bars. The festival also offers The Pit ticket priced at $1,599 + fees, which provides access to a standing room only pit area in front of the stage for an up-close and personal experience. Additionally, VIP packages are available, with prices ranging from $1,749 + fees for the Chrome package to $2,999 + fees for the Pit package. These packages come with exclusive perks, merchandise, and more. Finally, for those looking to camp out during the festival, camping options are available at the venue, providing a convenient and fun way to immerse yourself in the festival experience. From car camping to luxurious yurts. The car camping option allows campers to park their vehicle at their 10’ x 30’ site and purchase up to two additional parking passes. The preferred car camping option offers a larger 15’ x 35’ camping site and guaranteed spot in section 5A. For those who prefer to bring their home on wheels, there is an RV camping option with power. For those who want to camp in style, there are two options: a 2-person lodge or a 4-person safari-style tent at the exclusive lakeside oasis. The most luxurious option is the furnished safari tents and lounges with a personal concierge, golf cart transportation, and access to air-conditioned restrooms and showers. The event passes are not included in any of the camping options. Ticketing for Power Trip begins on April 6 at 10 a.m. PT, and fans are advised to act fast as tickets are sure to sell out quickly. Full details and information on the festival can be found on its website. Whether you’re a die-hard fan or simply love the music of these legendary acts, the Power Trip festival is not to be missed.

As people become increasingly aware of the impact of fast fashion on the environment, many are looking for ways to make their wardrobes more sustainable. One option is to upcycle clothes that you no longer wear, transforming them into new and unique pieces that fit your personal style. Upcycling not only reduces the amount of textile waste going to landfills, but also saves resources that would have been used to produce new clothes. Here are some tips for upcycling your wardrobe and making sustainable fashion choices. Get creative with your existing clothes Before you start buying new clothes or materials, take a good look at your existing wardrobe. Are there clothes that you don’t wear anymore but that still have potential? Maybe a shirt that is too big or a dress with a stain on it? Think about how you could transform these items into something new and unique. For example, you could turn a shirt into a crop top, add patches or embroidery to a denim jacket, or turn a dress into a skirt. Shop for second-hand materials If you need additional materials for your upcycling projects, consider shopping for second-hand items. Thrift stores and online marketplaces like eBay and Etsy are great places to find unique fabrics, buttons, and other materials that can be used to create new pieces. Not only is this an eco-friendly option, but it also supports small businesses and reduces the demand for new materials. Learn some basic sewing skills While you don’t need to be a master tailor to upcycle your clothes, some basic sewing skills will come in handy. Learn how to use a sewing machine, thread a needle, and do some basic stitching. There are plenty of tutorials and classes available online, and you can start with simple projects like hemming a pair of pants or fixing a tear in a shirt. Experiment with dyeing and printing Dyeing and printing are great ways to give new life to old clothes. You can dye a white shirt a new color, create a tie-dye pattern on a dress, or print a fun design on a plain t-shirt. There are many eco-friendly dye options available, such as natural dyes made from plants like indigo or madder. Look for tutorials and inspiration online to get started. Share your creations Upcycling is not only a great way to make your wardrobe more sustainable, but also a fun and creative hobby. Share your creations with others by posting photos on social media, starting a blog or YouTube channel, or selling your items online. You never know who might be inspired by your work and start upcycling their own clothes. By upcycling your clothes and learning to make more sustainable fashion choices, you can help reduce the impact of fast fashion on the environment. Remember to get creative, shop second-hand, learn some basic sewing skills, experiment with dyeing and printing, and share your creations with others. With a little bit of effort, you can create a wardrobe that is both stylish and eco-friendly.

Björk Shares New Video for “fossora” Directed by Herself, Viðar Logi, M/M (Paris) and Futuredeluxe. Icelandic singer-songwriter Björk has released a new video for her track “fossora,” directed by herself, Viðar Logi, M/M (Paris), and Futuredeluxe. The title track is taken from her Grammy-nominated album of the same name, which was named as one of The New York Times’ and Pitchfork’s Albums of the Year. The word “fossora” was created by Björk and named after the feminine version of the Latin word for “digger.” The track is a reflection on roots, grounding, love, and family in the context of an underground mushroom world. The video is an extension of the world Björk created for the album and sees her performing alongside clarinet sextet Murmuri and Kasimyn of Gabbar Modus Operandi against an unfolding backdrop of glistening spores that multiply, grow, and pulsate as the track’s intensity reaches its peak. Björk is a multidisciplinary artist who continually innovates across music, art, fashion, and technology. She has written, arranged, and produced an expansive music catalogue and collaborated with scientists, app developers, writers, inventors, musicians, and instrument makers. Björk continues to inspire and experiment, redefining the boundaries of what it means to be a musician. The “fossora” video credits include Björk, Viðar Logi, M/M (Paris), and Futuredeluxe as directors. M/M (Paris) was responsible for the original digital fungi typography, and Futuredeluxe handled CG design, animation, and production. The post-production was done by Okaystudio, with Sara Nassim as the shoot producer, Shadi Chaaban as DOP, and Frédéric Thoraval as the editor. The musicians featured in the video are Aditya Surya Raruna “Kas,” Baldvin Ingvar Tryggvason, Grímur Helgason, Hilma Kristín Sveinsdóttir, Helga Björg Arnardóttir, Kristín Þóra Pétursdóttir, Rúnar Óskarsson, and Matthías Birgir Nardeau. Björk’s dress is by Richard Malone, with neckpiece by James Merry, jewelry by Panconesi, and boots by Burberry. Kas’s outfit is by Ican Harem, and the band’s outfits are by Harri, Richard Malone, Rafaela Pestritu, and Maison Margiela. Edda Guðmundsdóttir is the stylist, with hairpieces by Tomikono Wig and makeup by Hungry for Björk and Sunna Björk Erlingsdóttir for the band and Kas. Björk’s “fossora” is available to stream now on www.bjork.com. The video is a stunning visual representation of the artist’s creativity and innovation, once again highlighting her position as one of the most innovative and boundary-pushing artists of our time. www.bjork.com www.twitter.com/bjork www.facebook.com/bjork www.instagram.com/bjork www.bjorktour.com
